Ross Jenkins
This has got to be one of Christian's best characters ever.He was the best UNIT ( actually best Dr Who ) character that has ever been on it. Why did they have to kill him off?

Re: Ross Jenkins
Ramblings is working now! Ross is his friendliest role ( Liam is kind of friendly but has a bit of a crime problem).I don't know why but I always thought of Ross as being a sad character. He always seemed to be under appreciated by everyone but the Doctor.Tell me if I am telling rubbish though!

the doctor really took a shine to him though.
becuase when that american guy (i cant remember his name) called him "another unit guy", and basiaccly thick, the doctor ws all "we like ross, dont be mean to ross ect"
i reckon he's coming back.
i hope.

Re: Ross Jenkins
I really liked their friendship. It seemed real too and the Docor seemed very upset when Ross got shot. I liked the joke that the Doctor said about Ross that he looked like a pink weasal to the Sontarans!

Re: Ross Jenkins
Someone had to say it and Ross was the only one with enough sense to do it. I liked the joke in the Jeep too - 'I timed that perfectly'. It was nice with just a hint of arrogance which works really well in my opinion.

Re: Ross Jenkins
Not a nasty arrogance like he was up himself (that was more Rattigan's thing). It was just a tiny bit arrogant ( in a nice way ) but was mostly confidence.

Re: Ross Jenkins
Brae was always kind of shy. However, he was a million times more shy around Jackie. It would be interesting to see if he is like this with all the women he fancies if they give him another girlfriend/interest next series.I will probably start up threads for all his characters tomorrow anyway. It is a bit late now.

Re: Ross Jenkins
All forums go off topic at one point so don't worry about it.
Back to Ross, though , he may seem like the nicest character he has played and he probably is.However,it is also probably the only role where he would have killed someone before. It is pretty safe to guess that he has because he is a soldier.

Re: Ross Jenkins
He did look very scared of that Sontaran. He didn't shoot at first sight either so he couldn't have been a cold blooded killer.I wonder if Ross did actually kill anything before the Sontarans. When you join the army, do you instantly go into battle or do you have to train first.Maybe that was his first battle - and his last.

How old would you say Ross was?I'd say 18 or 19.

Re: Ross Jenkins
Just found this out , UNIT are definately returning in the finale. It is weird how if you look on the BBC website they mention how they are bringing back UNIT in a big way this year. They mention that a big part of this is the new characters that they introduce - Martha,Mace Price and Jenkins. It seems odd that they mentioned him if he was just going to be in the one episode.
Also, did Christian cut his hair for this role? It seems a lot shorter than it usually is.

Re: Ross Jenkins
i guess, he had to stay in uniform anywayy,
i mean , he was a soldier, so maybe they had to wear the hat.

Re: Ross Jenkins
One of the controlled soldiers lost their hat when they fell to the floor though.I would have thought that Ross' would have fell off as well.I'm not that bothered though as I already know what Christian's hair looks like.

Just looked at the picture in the Dr Who magazine and you can see the side of his head. His hair looks really short and his sideburns have been shaved. I reckon that he had to cut his hair you know.I bet he was thrilled about that!
